From this menu, you can add another person to the broadcast, mute/unmute your mic, mute/unmute your video, adjust the bandwidth usage, or visit settings (if you’re having mic or video issues.) The last icon is how you hang up at the end of the call. The picture below features the menu that’s at the top center of the screen. I’m sure the other icons are important, too, but those three are the ones I have specifically used so far. The 4th icon will bring up your Q&A if you have enabled it–you can click there to see questions from your audience.

The second icon enables you to screen share–which is particularly helpful if you’re trying to show your team how to use a certain computer program or anything like that. This is particularly helpful if you’re trying to remember who’s next, who’s supposed to speak on what subject, etc. The top icon gives you the option to have a chat going between you and the other people who are being videoed. If you hover on the left side of your screen, you will see the menu that is pictured below. Once you have shared your broadcast and are ready to get started, click the green “Start Broadcast” button in the bottom center of your screen. You can also use that link later for playback.
If you are not planning on using Q&A, you can simply share the YouTube link, and anyone who has that link can watch your broadcast live. (An easier way might be to create a circle with those on your team so you can easily invite them.) You will then need to go into your e-mail and approve those who have joined. Those who want to participate and have not yet been invited will need to click the link and request to join the meeting–they will also need to have google accounts. If you are using the Q&A function, you will want to copy and paste the Event Page link and share that link prior to starting the broadcast. That will show you the options pictured below. Now, to enable people to watch your broadcast live, click the “Links” button at the bottom right corner. If you are merely wanting to broadcast yourself for your team to watch, click the “Skip” button. This is good if you’re wanting to interview a particular consultant or something to that nature. For this, the guests you’re inviting will actually be in the video call with you–not just watching. If you want to use the Q&A function (where those who are watching from the meeting page can type questions that will pop up on a sidebar as you’re recording), you will need to enable it before clicking the Start button.
